Description
The course at Stornoway Golf Club is set amongst the woodlands of Lews Castle and rises out of these towards the moorlands to the south of the town. An undulating landscape presents the golfer with a course that demands a keen shot-making ability and a canny judgement  of distances.
A good variety of up and down hill holes presented with some blind greens, mixed with a sprinkling of dog-legs makes the course a recipe for golfing triumphs and disasters in equal measure.
The combination  of  trees, heather and gorse make the course a picturesque one in its own right. On the higher parts of the course, however, the views are magnificent. Over the town, across Broad Bay, Tong and beyond to the mainland to the north-east. To the south across the moors and  beyond to the mountains of Harris.
Detailed descriptions of individual holes may be found on the course scorecard page, but you have to play it for yourself to really appreciate the intricate challenges this course offers.
Stornoway Golf Club offers only one guarantee, a memorable round of golf with a warm welcome.
